A teenager and her younger sister are the only survivors of a massacre that has left the rest of their family dead.
Grissom pulls in the whole team for the case, due to the extent of the media coverage.
Sara is asked to look after the little girl, who is too traumatized to talk. Sara is keen to hand her over as soon as possible, but the girl has already grown attached to Sara.
Catherine's dedication to her job lands her in trouble when her ex-husband reports her when she fails to pick up her daughter from school.
